By engaging in regular physical activity and meeting your daily nutrient needs, Baton Rouge residents will have an easier time losing and/or maintaining weight. Don’t weigh yourself daily! Pay more attention to how you feel than to a number on the scale.
It is never too late to take control of your weight. Exercise and
healthy eating can help reduce your risk of developing preventable diseases.
What's your BMI?
Body mass index (BMI) is a formula that uses your weight and height to estimate your body fat and health risks. BMI can be used to indicate if you are overweight, obese, underweight or normal. A healthy BMI score is between 20 and 25. A score below 20 indicates that you may be underweight; a value above 25 indicates that you may be overweight.
Please remember that this is only one of many possible ways to assess your weight. If you have any concerns about your weight, please discuss them with your physician to address your specific individual situation.
